KOCHI: The Kerala High Court will consider again the suo moto case registered in the Sabarimala gold theft, today. It has sought clarification from the SIT on whether the gold sheets in front of the shrine were changed by the accused, including Unnikrishnan Potty. The SIT had prepared a detailed report after meeting the VSSC officials. The high court had sought a detailed report as there was uncertainty in the first report. The matter is being considered by a Devaswom bench comprising Justices A Raja Vijayaraghavan and K V Jayakumar.

The findings so far, including the details of the questioning of Kadakampally Surendran and Adoor Prakash, will be submitted to the court. The proceedings are being held in a closed courtroom. The high court had earlier opined that the investigation by the special team was satisfactory.

Meantime, a new picture of Unnikrishnan Potty and Kadakampally Surendran together was released yesterday. The special investigation team has found that Potty used political connections for the gold robbery. In this situation, more clarity should be brought to Kadakampally's relationship with Potty. This too may be included in the charge sheet. When questioned earlier, Kadakampally had stated that he only has a relationship with Potty as a sponsor in Sabarimala. He had also said that he had been to Potty's residence only once. Potty’s neighbor Vikraman Nair had stated that he had seen Kadakampally at the former’s residence in Pulimath several times. In the meanwhile, the new picture was out. The picture indicates that the two have a close relationship. Potty's uncle's daughter had excelled in her exams. The picture shows Kadakampally presenting a gift to her. It is clear that it is Potty's house. Kadakampally's response was that it is a picture of giving a memento to her and should ask the girl where the gift was given.
