SABARIMALA: Sabarimala temple has opened for Chingam monthly poojas. Melshanthi Arunkumar Namboothiri opened the nada and lit the lamp in Srilakam at 5 pm, in the presence of Thantri Kandararu Mahesh Mohanaru. Then the Melshanthi descended the Pathinettam Padi and lit the fire in the aazhi of the courtyard below. Malikappuram Melshanthi T. Vasudevan Namboothiri opened the Malikappuram temple nada.
There were no special poojas at Sannidhanam and Malikappuram today. Starting tomorrow, the deity will be awakened (palli unarthal) at 4.50 am. Nirmalya darshan and regular abhishekam will be held at 5.00 am. Then, Ganapathi homam will be performed in the eastern mandapam under the guidance of the Tantri. Neyyabhishekam will be held from 5.30 am to 7.00 am and from 9.00 am to 11.00 am.
The draw for the Keezh Shanti for the next one year in Sabarimala will be held at Sopanam tomorrow at 7.30 am, after the Usha Pooja. Devaswom Commissioner B. Sunil Kumar will supervise. The Melshanti draw for the Ganapathy temple in Pampa will be held at 9 am.
After the draw ceremony at the Sannidhanam, there will be Udayasthamaya Pooja, 25 Kalasham, Kalabhabhishekam, Ucha Pooja, Deeparadhana at 6.30 pm, Padipooja at 6.45 pm, Pushpabhishekam and Athazha Pooja. Bhagavathi Seva will be held after Deeparadhana at the Malikappuram temple. The nada will be closed at 10 pm on the 21st after completing the pujas. Devaswom Board President P.S. Prashanth, members Adv.A.Ajikumar, Adv.P.D.Santosh, Sabarimala Executive Officer O.G.Biju, and PRO Arun had reached the Sannidhanam yesterday evening.
