Scene from Junior Mandrake in real life: Man disturbs traffic by lying on road, shouts abuse at drivers

KOTTAYAM: Almost every movie-loving Malayali must have enjoyed the 1997 movie, Junior Mandrake. Known for its comedy-mystery blend, the movie still has a cult following. Kottayam town witnessed an incident similar to a scene from Junior Mandrake.

The incident took place in Gandhi Square, Kottayam. The youth, who arrived here at 4 pm, entered the middle of the road and sat down. He then stopped the vehicles coming through and verbally abused the drivers. Based on the information received from the locals, the police reached the spot and took him away.

However, he returned here again after some time and continued to sit and lie down in the middle of the road and abused the vehicle drivers. More police arrived at around 4.30 pm and removed him from here.

Internet users are comparing the incident to the movie scene, saying that Jagathy Sreekumar did this 29 years back and the man is trying to get arrested because the salary in prisons has been increased.
