School student gets hit by truck while crossing road in Thrissur, dies

THRISSUR: In yet another tragic road accident in Kerala, a young girl died after being hit by a pickup truck in Puthukkad. Vaishna (18), the daughter of Maliyekkal Mohanan, a native of Vadakke Thoravu, died in the accident. Vaishna was crossing the road to return home from tuition when the truck rammed into her. The police reached the spot and took further action.

In another incident, a college student died in a road accident in Alappuzha. Lijumon (18), son of Puthanpurakkal Joyichan, resident near Edathua Palakkalam bridge, died in the accident that took place at 12.05 am on Friday. The accident happened after the bike lost control and crashed into an electric post.

Merik (18), a resident of Pattathanam, Edathua, is undergoing treatment at the Thiruvalla Private Medical College Hospital in a critical condition. Both are students of St. Aloysius College, Edathua.
