Scientist Dr. C.G. Ramachandran Nair passes away

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr. C.G. Ramachandran Nair (93), a prominent chemistry Scientist and teacher, from Elankom Nagar, Thycaud, has passed away. He had spent his last days at an old age home near Nedumangad. His body will be taken to his home in Thycaud at 8.30 am on the 25th. The funeral will be held at 10.30 am at Thycaud Shanthi Kavadam.

Ramachandran Nair was the Chairman of the State Science, Technology and Environment Committee. Born in 1932 at Kuttipuzha, Aluva. He has served as Kerala University Chemistry HOD, Dean of the Faculty of Science, University Professor in Algiers, UGC Fellow Emeritus, and VSSC Visiting Consultant. He has received the Max Planck Institute Award in Germany, the Swadeshi Science Award, and the Bala Sahitya Institute Award.

Ramachandran Nair's wife K. Bharathi Devi passed away two months ago. Children: Late Girija Deepak (teacher in international schools), Dr. Ram K. Mohan (Environmental Engineer, USA). Sons-in-law: Deepak Nair (Investment Consultant), Dr. Aparna Mohan (USA).
