NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court has rejected the plea filed by Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA demanding a vigilance probe in the monthly payoff case The Supreme Court has clarified that they will not interfere in the plea. The Chief Justice also clarified that political issues should not be brought to the court.
Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA approached the Supreme Court seeking a vigilance investigation in the CMRL Exalogic deal. He moved the apex court after the high court rejected his plea seeking a vigilance investigation. The plea was considered by a bench led by Chief Justice B R Gavai.
Mathew Kuzhalnadan approached the high court after the Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court rejected his complaint against seven people, including the chief minister. The high court observed that the crime to be investigated under the Prevention of Corruption Act could not be found in the plea or in the documents provided.
Mathew Kuzhalnadan's response was that the Supreme Court did not intervene in the matter due to technical reasons. The political fight will be taken forward and will move legally. Mathew Kuzhalnadan said that no matter how many cyber-attacks are launched against him, he will not back out. He is fighting for justice. The fight waged will not be in vain. The chief minister will have to answer to the people, clarified the MLA.
