Sexual misbehaviour on bus: Woman who recorded video responds to Deepak's death

KOZHIKODE: The woman has come forward to respond to the incident in which a man committed suicide after his visuals went viral on social media. Deepak (41), a native of Govindapuram, Kozhikode, committed suicide. The man was found hanging inside his room this morning.

The woman had alleged that Deepak had sexually misbehaved on the bus. She had also shared the footage of this. Deepak committed suicide after this video went viral. The woman explained the ordeal she and another girl had experienced during the bus journey in Payyannur. The woman added that the news of the man's death was sad.

'I was on the bus from Payyannur railway station to Payyannur bus stand. This man was in front of me. When I saw the face and expression of a girl standing in front of him, I understood. She was standing in extreme discomfort. I didn't ask anything. I turned on my phone camera and held it. I stood still when I saw her. Then the crowd cleared. By then, the bus had reached the stand. When I saw him trying to make contact, I turned on the video again. I was behind him when I got off.

"He was trying to touch my body with his hands. This can be seen in the video. I stood aside. He repeated it again. Later, when I asked him what he was doing, he quickly walked away. Later, I called a policeman I knew at Vadakara station and told him the matter. He asked me to give him the address. I edited the video and posted it after that. I also wrote in the video that anyone who has any information about the man should inform me. Even in my case, he tried to touch me even though he knew I didn't like it 100 percent. I'm saddened to hear about his death," the woman said.
