All eligible people will be included in voter list, government takes urgent action

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided to take immediate steps to include all eligible people in the voter list. Those who do not have sufficient documents will be provided with documents on a war footing. No fee will be charged for the documents. Instructions have been given to the district collectors in this regard.

The cabinet meeting has decided to set up help centers on a regional basis. Instructions have been given to set up K-Smart Help Desks in the camps. District Collectors have been given the responsibility of setting up hearing centres in a way that does not cause any inconvenience to the public and ensuring basic facilities for them. The service of adequate hearing officers and, if necessary, the service of volunteers should be ensured in the hearing centres. The facility for submitting forms online will be set up in all help centres. The IT department has been instructed to reduce the fees charged by Akshaya Centres.

Booth level officers should be appointed within two days in polling stations where they are not appointed or vacant. Vacancies arising due to retirement in the posts of ERO, AERO and Additional AERO should be filled immediately. Leave before retirement should be granted only after the person is appointed in his place. Leave should not be granted without prior permission.

The Local Self-Government Department was asked to look into the possibility of obtaining certificates directly through the Panchayat if there is a delay in obtaining certificates through K-Smart.
