Stops bike and steps onto road to save cat trapped on road; man dies after being hit by car

THRISSUR: In a tragic incident, a man died after being hit by a car when he stopped his bike and stepped onto the road to save a cat. The deceased has been identified as Kalathodu Chittilappilly native Sijo (42). The incident occurred around 9:30 PM last night on the Mannuthy road. Though Sijo was rushed to a private hospital in Thrissur, his life could not be saved.

Mannuthy police arrived at the scene and examined the CCTV footage. The CCTV footage showed Sijo getting off his bike after noticing a cat and crossing the road. His body is currently kept at the hospital, and it will be handed over to the relatives after the postmortem.
