Student dies as college bus runs over him after falling from bike

VIZHINJAM: A student met a tragic end after a college bus ran over him in Thiruvallam's Vandithadam. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Thalseen (19), son of Abdul Jaleel and Mubeena, of Mudumbil House in Pachalloor's Kanyarnada. He was a first year electrical engineering student of Thiruvallam Ace College of Engineering.

The accident took place near a petrol pump on Pachalloor Vandithadam road yesterday morning around 8.30 am.

Thalseen was going to college as a pillion rider on his cousin Noufal's scooter. While trying to overtake the college bus, Noufal braked to avoid hitting the oncoming car and lost control and fell under the bus. Thalseen died on the spot. Noufal was admitted to the hospital with injuries.

Thalseen's brother is Mohammad Tayyub. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to the relatives. Thiruvallam police registered a case and started investigation. Meanwhile, the Ace College authorities said that it is untrue that the accident was caused by the college bus.
