KOCHI: Interim order of High Court not to allow students up to Plus Two from participating in Navakerala Sadas. Students should not be used for politics. The High Court also clarified in the order that the government has no authority to issue orders on matters outside the curriculum. The High Court's reference was made while considering a petition against the participation of students in the Navakerala Sadas.

The government had informed the High Court that students would no longer be made to participate in the Navakerala Sadas. The government informed the High Court that it will stop the participation of children in the Navakerala Sadas and withdraw all orders issued by the Education Department in this regard by Monday. The government has also announced that it will withdraw the order to release school buses for the Navkerala Sadas.

The decision to include students in the Navakerala Sadas was controversial. It was alleged that the children were made to stand in the sun. The children were made to stand on the road to greet the Chief Minister and ministers who were going from Thalassery to Panoor in the Kuthuparamba constituency. The National and State Child Rights Commissions have registered a case in the incident.
