Sunitha, an expert bullet mechanic

sunitha

PATHANAMTHITTA: Sunita, who went to her husband Kunjumon's two wheeler workshop only to provide, has now become an expert bullet mechanic. Earlier, there were several complaints about delay in work completion as Kunjumon was working alone, now it has decreased.

Kunjumon's Setha Workshop is located at Kulam Junction on Pathanamthitta - Kaipattoor Road. 42-year old Sunitha started going to her husband's workshop to provide lunch ten years ago. On busy days, she helped to pick up spanners and nuts. Kunjumon didn't object when she wanted to study the repairing works of bullet. Slowly, she learnt the work.

Now, Sunitha also works in the shop along with Kunjumon. When he goes somewhere to buy spareparts, Sunita alone handles the repairing works. She has ten years of experience in this field.

Both daughters are proud to tell friends that their mother is a bullet mechanic. Her daughter Sethulakshmi is a Plus Two student and Sethalakshmi, a fifth grader.

Kunjumon has been repairing the bullet for 20 years and got married 15 years ago.

"Women can do any job if they are willing to work. We need to have confidence in ourselves and should take on small jobs with pride.", says Sunitha
