PALA: Suresh Gopi and his wife Radhika came to Pala Kurishu Palli to seek blessings even though their daughter's wedding will be held at the Guruvayur temple. As it was the Amalolbhava Jubilee festival, both of them prayed for their daughter after making vows. The wedding will be held on January 17 in Guruvayur.
Suresh Gopi and his wife Radhika reached the church at 7:15 pm. Whenever he comes to Pala, he lights a candle in front of the Amalolbhava Matha before leaving. It is the first time he is coming during the Thirunal days. His friend Biju Pulikkandam accompanied them. Chief Vicar General Mon. Joseph Thadathil and Fr. Jose Kakkallil welcomed them.
Prayer that started at Thankassery school
Suresh Gopi's schooling was at Kollam Thangassery Infant Jesus Convent. The rosary prayer bead was to be recited as a prayer to the Mother in the morning. He still has it memorized to this day.
The love for the Holy Mother of Pala started from Lelam movie. One of the dialogues in it was "Ente Punyalacha". It was Biju Pulikkandam, a friend and filmmaker of that time, who suggested changing it to 'Ente Kurishupalli Matave''. In about a dozen scenes in the movie, Suresh Gopi's character Anakattil Chackochi says "Ente Kurishupalli Matave". Even before acting in the recently released movie Garudan, Suresh Gopi had come to pray to Amalolbhava Matha.
