IDUKKI: Union Minister Suresh Gopi sends items to Mariyakutty, who was denied ration. She alleged that when she went to buy ration, the shopkeeper did not supply her goods and asked her to go a shop run by the BJP. She has filed a complaint with the district collector and district supply officer regarding this. After this, Suresh Gopi sent her the items needed. He informed this on Facebook.
‘The union minister shared a post of Team Suresh Gopi, along with pictures of the items delivered to Mariyakutty, with the note, 'The Suresh Gopi Fans and Welfare Association, Idukki District Committee have delivered the necessary goods to Mariyakutty, who was denied ration.'
Mariyakutty had recently left the congress party and joined the BJP. When I went to buy ration, he said, ‘This is a shop run by the congress, you go and buy from a BJP man’s shop. A Congressman said this. I have a threat from the Congress. I just walked off,' said Mariyakutty.
Mariyakutty went to the ration shop in Adimali city on the eve of Onam. Meantime, the employee of the ration shop has denied the allegation. When Mariyakutty came, the shop was overcrowded and the server was down. Rations were given to those coming first and she left as she was not willing to wait.
