THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V D Satheesan has demanded the intervention of the speaker as M M Mani is not ready to withdraw his controversial remarks against Vadakara MLA K K Rema in the assembly. “The remarks should be removed from the house records. This is not Kaurava Assembly. Don’t make it one. All should remember that this is the Kerala Assembly”, said Satheesan. The deputy speaker, who was in the chair, said that he will look into the demand to remove the controversial remarks from the house records.
The opposition had arrived in the assembly on Monday, holding placards demanding the withdrawal of Mani’s remarks. However, they did not interrupt the question hour and the zero hour. The opposition leader had raised the issue in the house after the zero hour.
