THRISSUR: Three migrant workers were killed after an old building collapsed in Kodakara. The building collapsed Friday morning at around 6 am. The victims were natives of Bengal. The rescue operations were carried by the fire force, police and locals.
An old two-storied building housing the migrant workers collapsed. Twelve people were staying in the building. The incident happened when they were getting ready to go for work. Nine people had escaped.
It is hinted that this building is forty years old. This building was built of bricks during the time of the present owner's grandfather. It is suspected that it may have collapsed in the heavy rains. The building has been completely razed to the ground.
