Tourists attacked in Wayanad, hurl abuses, removes mundu

WAYANAD: A complaint has been filed for thrashing tourists at Thamarassery Pass. The incident happened last night around 11:30 pm. The tourists were attacked following a dispute that broke out over hitting a vehicle. A case has been registered against five people in the incident.


A dispute that broke out after a tourist bus hits a goods auto ended in the attack. A group of 45 people from Chelannur in Kozhikode were on the bus. The issue that arose after hitting the goods auto was resolved through discussion. However, a group of youths traveling in a car intervened in the issue and made the situation worse. The youths threatened the bus staff and followed the bus. They organized more people on the way and stopped the bus and attacked them.

The complaint is that they abused and assaulted the people inside the bus. The visuals of the incident have emerged. The footage shows the gang of attackers removing a mundu of a person in the bus and trying to attack the tourists in the bus. Aswani, one of the complainants, also alleged that the gang snatched her phone during the attack.
