Tragic road accident in Vizhinjam claims lives of two school students

VIZHINJAM: Two students died tragically in a road accident in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Another student suffered serious injuries. The accident took place in front of the Mullur Bhadrakali temple on the Poovar route in Vizhinjam at around 6 pm on Saturday.

Jayson (17) of Nirmala Bhavan near Sindhu Yatra Mata Church in Kottappuram, Vizhinjam, and T Shanu (16) of Uriyarikunnil, Puthiyathura, died in the accident.

Jayson was a Plus Two student of St. Mary's H.S.S. in Kottappuram, and Shanu was in Plus One. Stephanie (16), a Plus One student of the same school and a native of Puthiyathura, was seriously injured in the accident. The three were travelling on a scooter. Pozhiyoor native Adv. Shabu’s car, which rammed into the scooter, was taken into custody.

The car, which was coming from the Pulinkudi area, rammed into the scooter, heading towards Puthiyathura.
