Two out of 26 subjected to dialysis die, six unwell, allegation against Haripad Taluk Hospital

ALAPPUZHA: Serious allegations been levelled against Haripad Taluk Hospital. The families have come forward with the complaint after two people subjected to dialysis in the hospital have died. They allege infection as the cause of death.

26 people were subjected to dialysis in the hospital on December 29. Six of them developed uneasiness and two lost their lives. The dead were Majeed (52) of Kayamkulam and Ramachandran (60) of Haripad. Following suspicion of infection, the dialysis equipment and water in the hospital were tested. However, the hospital superintendent said that everything is free from bacteria. Hospital superintendent Dr Arun Jacob responded that an expert test will be conducted again. The health minister has sought a report on the incident.
