KASARGOD: The UDF’s Puthuyuga Yatra began with an enthusiastic start at Kumbla in Kasaragod. AICC Organisational General Secretary K.C. Venugopal inaugurated the yatra by handing over the flags of UDF constituent parties to Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan.
Venugopal said that people who have suffered for the past 10 years are waiting for the moment when the Pinarayi government steps down. "There has never been such strong anti-government sentiment among the public. Instead of dividing people in the name of caste and religion, the UDF will work to unite them. If the UDF comes to power, all thieves who looted gold and money from temples will be put behind bars," he said.
The yatra will conclude on March 7 at Putharikandam Maidan. Today, it will pass through the Uduma, Kanhangad and Thrikkarippur constituencies.
