CHERTHALA: Vellapalli Natesan elected uncontested for the 10th consecutive term as SN Trust Secretary is set to assume office on Monday at 10:00 am in Kollam, the trust's headquarters. The induction of other office bearers and executive members will also take place.

This marks Vellappally's 28th year as Secretary of SN Trust, making him the longest-serving secretary in its history. His tenure began on February 3, 1996. Over the years, he has collaborated with five chairmen, starting with Dr KK Rahulan and followed by Unneerikutty, Kamalasanan Vaidyar, Pattathuvila Damodaran Muthalali and the current chairman, Dr M. N. Soman who has served five terms.

Vellappally's unopposed victory reflects his exceptional organizational skills and rapport with the trust's 2,000 board members. Under his leadership, the trust has grown from approximately 50 educational institutions to a remarkable 143 today, representing a doubling in number. His success is attributed to his efforts in advocating for the community's rights from successive governments.

Known for his commitment to the public and as a community leader, Vellapalli has gained widespread acceptance despite making enemies due to his straightforwardness and willingness to address inconvenient truths openly. His expertise lies in deep subject understanding. Additionally, his role as the SNDP meeting's General Secretary will reach 27 years in January, further demonstrating his enduring leadership.
