SHARJAH: The body of Kollam native Vipanchika's daughter, who died abroad at her residence, has been shifted to the morgue. The consulate authorities shifted the body just before the funeral. This is after the Indian Consulate intervened in the matter. Nidheesh's demand is that the funeral be held abroad. Vipanchika's mother Shailaja had opposed this. Vipanchika's family is demanding that the funeral of the child be held in Kerala itself.
The funeral of the child should be held in Kerala at Nidheesh's or Vipanchika's house. Shailaja had also demanded that the consulate intervene in this matter. The consulate has summoned Nidheesh for a discussion based on this.
"The funeral of the child should be held in Kerala, not abroad. The bodies of both should be brought back to the country. The funeral should be held in the land of their birth, at Nidheesh's house or our house. I don't understand why Nidheesh is insisting on performing the funeral abroad, said Shailaja.
The Kundara police had registered a case against the husband and family members in the mysterious death of Vipanchika and her daughter in Sharjah. The case was filed under sections such as abetment to suicide and dowry harassment on the complaint of Vipanchika's mother Shailaja. Vipanchika's husband Nidheesh, his sister Neetu, and father Mohanan have been named as accused in Vipanchika's death. Vipanchika and her daughter were found dead at their residence last Tuesday.
