SIVAGIRI: Minister K Rajan said that as long as the world exists, the vision of Sree Narayana Gurudeva will remain alive by igniting human life. The minister was inaugurating the 97th Mahasamadhi Sammelan and the Upavasa Yajna at Sivagiri. "It is the great light of Guru that illuminates all of us. It inspires our lives. This is a vision that the world has to accept with one mind," the minister said.

Gurudeva had the strength and ability to express his opinion on any subject because of his poetics and purity of language. Guru devised ideas that are equally acceptable to the world. At a time when the Vedas, Puranas and Smritis were controlling life, Guru accepted his historical assignment in his heart. Guru lifted the downtrodden and convinced them that God is an experience accessible to all. The ripples of the message of 'one caste, one religion, one god, for humans' will cross the boundaries of Malayalam and continue to ring till the end of the era. Guru tried to eradicate caste and religious divisions. Its seeds should not be allowed to germinate in the soil of cultural Kerala, the minister said.

Democracy is not just the opinion of the majority. It's a broad sense of being able to see everyone equally. Long ago, Gurudeva convinced us of this. Guru declared that no religion can be despised for him who is convinced that the essence of all religions is the same. It was Gurudeva who ploughed this land, which Swami Vivekananda called a lunatic asylum, and provided the background for human beings to live, Minister Rajan said.

Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust President Swami Satchidananda presided over the function. Dr Shashi Tharoor MP delivered the keynote address. Treasurer Swami Sharadananda, Trust Board Member Swami Sookshmananda, Adv V Joy MLA, Municipality Chairman KM Laji, Varkala Kahar, Block Panchayat President Adv Smita Sundaresan and Sathyan Pantathala spoke on the occasion. Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda welcomed the gathering and Swami Asanganandagiri, Secretary, Gurudharma Prachara Sabha, gave the vote of thanks.
