THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that BJP tried to implement an anti-Muslim agenda through the Waqf Amendment Bill. The Chief Minister said in a press conference that the BJP had propagated that the Waqf Act amendment was the solution to the Munambam issue, but it failed.
"The rights of the Munambam people will be protected. That is why the commission was set up. Protestors were asked to stop the strike when the commission was set up, but they did not stop the strike. Some people gave them hope. The Munambam issue will not be resolved with the Waqf Bill. BJP's political exploitation has failed. BJP's politics of bringing Kiren Rijiju has failed. The BJP has deceived the Munambam people. The opposition leader is speaking words in support of the BJP. League is showing double standards on the Waqf issue. The League's stance on Sir Syed College in Taliparamba is different," the Chief Minister criticized.
