Warning issued to two Kerala districts; Heavy rainfall expected in state today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is expected to receive heavy rainfall on Saturday. A yellow alert was issued in Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Fishing has been banned on the Kerala coast today in view of the possibility of high waves. A red alert was issued at dams following the dangerous rise in water levels.

• Those living in areas prone to landslides, mudslides, and mountain floods should relocate to safer areas as instructed by the authorities.
• Those living on riverbanks and downstream areas of dams should also anticipate the risk of danger and move to safer places as per the instructions of the authorities.
• Those living in disaster-prone areas should definitely ensure that camps are open in their area and move there during the day.
• Those living in unsecured houses and houses with weak roofs should be especially careful, as there is a possibility of strong winds. Those aware of the danger should contact the authorities and move to safer places as part of their safety precautions.
