MEPPADI: Priyadarshini Pandey, who came to Wayanad from Odisha for her honeymoon, returned home without her husband. In the landslide in Mundakkai, Priyadarshini's husband Dr Vishnu Prasad, their friend Dr Swadeen Pandey and his wife Sukriti were washed away along with the Linora Homestay where they were staying. Priyadarshini and Sukriti escaped with serious injuries. Vishnu's dead body has been found, but there is no information about Swadeen.

They arrived in Kozhikode from Bhubaneswar on 26th of last month. On the 28th they reached Linora Home Stay in Meppadi. After visiting the tourist centres on Monday, they went to bed late at night. The landslide happened at one o'clock in the night. Before they knew what was happening, the water rushed through the homestay washing it away. It was the rescuers who found Priyadarshini lying covered in dirt holding on to the basement of the school below. Sukriti was also found in critical condition later.

Priyadarshini is a nurse at Cuttack Nursing College. Dr. Vishnu Prasad and his wife decided that they would spend their honeymoon in Wayanad after hearing about the beauty of Wayanad. Dr. Vishnu Prasad is a doctor at Chinnar Cuttack Medical College. Dr. Swadeen Pandey is a doctor at SCB Medical College, Cuttack. Sukriti was on a ventilator at a private medical college in Meppadi with severe leg and head injuries. She was transferred to the ward last day after she was out of danger.
