WAYANAD: A woman scooterist had a narrow escape from a wild elephant in the middle of the night. The incident occurred at around 7:45 pm on Friday at Padivayal in Wayanad. Murshida of Vaduvanchal happened to come before an elephant. Shocking CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced.

Murshida, an employee of a private hospital in Meppadi, was on her way to the hospital for night duty. She said that she saw the wild elephant when reached near the elephant. She was in such a situation that she could neither stop the vehicle or return. Therefore, there was nothing she could do except take the vehicle and leave immediately. Murshida also explained that she escaped somehow. The elephant did not follow her, which also avoided a major accident. The elephant was stationed in a residential area.

Meantime, an elephant was seen again in Athirappilly. The elephant, which was sedated and released, was seen again. It is indicated that the elephant's wound has not healed completely. Locals said the elephant is showing signs of aggression. The forest department said they are monitoring the elephant.
