THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman filed a sexual harassment complaint against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil with the chief minister of Kerala on Thursday. The woman filed the complaint after meeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in person. Evidence, including chat and audio recordings, was also handed over.

Earlier, police had registered a case after Rahul’s audio chat with a woman was released by a television channel. But the investigation was hampered as no one came forward to give a statement.

Meanwhile, this morning, Youth Congress state general secretary Sajana B Sajan filed a complaint against Rahul to the AICC and Priyanka Gandhi. The complaint was filed demanding that an inquiry commission, including women leaders, be appointed to meet the victimised girls and discuss the issue seriously. The audio recording related to the sexual harassment allegations had come out the previous day.

In an audio that was released yesterday, Rahul was seen forcing a woman to engage in unprotected sex with him, as he even opened up to her about his desire to impregnate her. However, Rahul soon changed his stance and forced the woman to undergo an abortion, which the woman refused due to health complications.
