THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The details of the survivor’s statement against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA has surfaced. Rahul threatened for abortion and pills for abortion were brought through his friend Joby Joseph.

‘Rahul forced when hinted the dangers of consuming the pills. Gave directions via videocall. He hung the phone only after making sure the pills were consumed. Went through a difficult situation after that. I had bleeding for three days. The doctor scolded me when went for an examination. He said this method can put one’s life in danger,’ said her statement.

There were reports earlier that the woman went for an abortion at a hospital in Bengaluru. It is clear that the abortion was performed in a primitive way after the girl's statement emerged.

A team led by Rural SP recorded her statement yesterday. It lasted for five and a half hours. The woman gave a twenty-page statement. It is heard that a case has also been registered against Joby Joseph, who delivered the pills to her.

The woman went to the chief minister's office last evening and filed a complaint. WhatsApp chats, voice messages, pictures and medical reports have also been handed over as evidence. An FIR was registered at the Valiyamala police station in Thiruvananthapuram Friday morning.
