Youth commits suicide in hotel room shared by woman

PATHANAMTHITTA: A youth, who shared a room with a woman in a lodge in Kumbazha, committed suicide by hanging. The dead is Muhammed Soofiyan (22), son of Noushad of Adoor Adikattukulangara Muttari Vadakkethil. The incident happened Saturday evening.

Soofiyan took a room along with a 20-year-old woman from Kalanjoor at a hotel in Kumbazha at around 3:30 pm. A fight broke out between the two at 7:30 pm. The youth took the drastic step when the woman went to the washroom.

The body was first seen by the woman when she came from the washroom. She then informed the lodge authorities and they informed the police. The Pathanamthitta police have registered a case of unnatural death in the incident.
