KOLLAM: Minister K B Ganesh Kumar termed as baseless the news that NCP MLA Thomas K Thomas offered money to two MLAs of the LDF persuading them to defect. Is there any proof for it? Is 100 crore a small number? Even if Thomas K Thomas' sells his entire property, he will not get 100 crores. Ganesh Kumar responded that if such an offer is made, the MLAs of Kerala will not leave.
Thomas K Thomas is close to me. I am the chairman of a party, also the leader of a parliamentary party and an MLA. Why didn't he offer me the money? He will not offer me. This is likely to be a myth. Only an unintelligent person will think of offering money to the the LDF MLAs of Kerala . Have been in politics for 23 years. No one has come to me with such an offer. They know cannot bribe me and so happy about it, said Ganesh Kumar.
It is alleged that the chief minister did not allow NCP (Sharad Pawar) MLA Thomas K Thomas to join the cabinet because of the complaint that he tried to defect two LDF MLAs by offering Rs 50 crore each. The chief minister reported this serious allegation to the CPM state secretariat. Thomas K Thomas handed over the letter denying the allegation to the chief minister. It is alleged that Thomas K Thomas offered Rs 50 crore each to Kovoor Kunjumon and Antony Raju.
