THRISSUR: BJP leader Padmaja Venugopal came to the fore after the verdict of the Lok Sabha elections. She told the media that her decision to leave the Congress and join the BJP did not go wrong.

'Left the house in Thrissur in tears. I had warned K Muraleedharan. What I heard about BJP is not what I experienced when came to work in it. Congress is now playing the politics of hate. BJP is not mentioning caste and religion. Congress is now playing caste. Congress is scaring people by saying that if Modi comes to power, will have to go to Pakistan from here. My father has told me that if one studies politics of Thrissur, then will be able to work anywhere. The people of Thrissur are not without intelligence. All Congressmen in Thrissur are not bad. However, power is not in the hands of good people.

K Muraleedharan is a very intelligent and knowledgeable person. Even though we are in two political parties, there is no shortage of love. His defeat is not honourable. There is pain in it. Want to know who fielded him in Thrissur? The name of that person has been written on the wall of DCC office. Those who defeated me is also behind the defeat of my brother,’ she said.
