KOZHIKODE: CPM has expelled local leader from the party for allegedly taking bribe for PSC membership. The party has taken action against CPM Kozhikode town area committee member Pramod Kottoolli. He was expelled from the primary membership of the CPM. Action was against Pramod Kottoolli on bribery charges by CPM district committee.
The decision taken by the district committee was also reported in the town area committee meeting held in the afternoon. The state committee had assessed that the district committee had failed in handling the matter. The state committee criticized that the decision was delayed without taking action despite a serious allegation. This was informed by the leaders from the state committee who attended the district committee meeting.
The CPM Kozhikode district committee met today to discuss action against Pramod Kottooli. It was in this meeting that it was decided to remove Pramod Kottoolli's primary membership. State secretariat members TP Ramakrishnan, Mohammed Riyas and others participated in the meeting held at the district committee office. Although a section of the district committee members are against the action, it has been informed that the decision to expel Pramod Kottooli from the party has been taken based on the instructions given by the state leadership.
At the same time, it was stated in the explanation given by Pramod to the district secretariat that he is innocent and the complaint is fabricated. However, people including Minister Mohammed Riyas demanded strict action.
