TALIPARAMBA: Severe criticizm against central committee member EP Jayarajan and former district panchayat president PP Divya in CPM Kannur district conference's work report. There is also self-criticism that it was organizational and administrative failures that lead to the election defeat. The work report was presented by district secretary MV Jayarajan.
EP is accused of being careless in the issues he intervenes in and putting the party in crisis at crucial junctures. It has been pointed out that the constant lapses of a senior leader like EP can lead to sending the wrong message about the party to the public. The allegations levelled against PP Divya in the suicide of ADM Naveen Babu have also put the party in crisis. The report also points out that although it can be said to be well-intentioned, even party workers believe that untimely intervention is inappropriate.
The workers' intervention in local issues including the environment, the leakage of minority votes in the Lok Sabha elections in Kannur district, etc. were also evaluated.
It is suggested that branch committees should be vigilant to counter the growth of BJP and that party members should activate Household contacts within the branch limits. Party members should continue to lead exemplary lives. They should avoid accepting donations from tainted people. Supporter meetings and classes should be organized. Organizational education should be provided to new faces.
Various issues including Manu Thomas, P Jayarajan's posts and the stance taken on Naveen Babu's death will be discussed in the organizational discussion. Former district committee member PP Divya, who was demoted to the branch level, was not a district conference representative. PP Divya had also shared the video shared by District Secretary MV Jayarajan regarding the inauguration of the conference.
