'Demolition of Tata hospital which costed crores and built on the claim that it can be used for 30 years is a blunder from government'

surendran-

KASARAGOD: BJP state president K Surendran said that the demolition of the Chattanchal Tata Covid hospital, which was built at a cost of crores, saying that it will be used for 30 years, is due to the government's negligence. The hospital built with Tata CSR Fund at a cost of 60 crores has to be demolished because the government does not carry out maintenance work at regular intervals.

This is the latest example of the state government's approach of treating Kasaragod people as second-class citizens. Due to the lack of a good hospital in the district during Covid, many lives were lost. The deplorable condition was caused by the hospital lying idle after the number of patients started decreasing after the covid epidemic. It is shocking that even though it was built by Tata, the state government, which is responsible for maintaining it, has not done anything.

The building is leaking. The plywood floor is in a state of disrepair. There is widespread leakage in all the containers in the hospital. Yet the fact that the government has not done anything is a challenge to the people of the district. A district in the state which claims to be number one in health does not even have a good hospital. K Surendran accused the government of showing interest in only eliminating the existing hospital.
