THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan, who earlier said he would not contest the elections this time, flip-flopped by expressing his desire to contest from the Vattiyoorkavu constituency in the assembly elections. Muraleedharan informed the Congress leadership of his stance. With K Muraleedharan set to return to his old fortress, the stage is set for a triangular contest in Vattiyoorkavu.
Before embarking on the assembly election process, the KPCC leadership meeting will reportedly be held at the Ernakulam DCC office at 10 am on the 15th. Before that, efforts will be made to complete the seat-sharing talks with the alliance parties. Discussions related to the selection of the Congress candidate may also take place.
Political Affairs Committee members, KPCC office bearers, Executive Committee members, DCC presidents, MPs, MLAs, etc., will participate. The meeting will also include an assessment of the Puthyuga Yatra and a review of the home visit program organised by KPCC.
