THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The results of the one seat won by KSU in the student elections to the Kerala University Senate will be announced after the verdict in the High Court case. The elections were held for 10 seats in the student quota. Simjo Samuel Zachariah, Salman Faris and Muhammed Shinas Babu won the Senate in the KSU panel. In this, Simjo's result from Loyola College has been withheld. The final decision on this will be taken after the verdict in the High Court case related to the age limit. Although the court allowed Simjo to contest, the High Court had ordered in the petition against Simjo's candidature that the final decision would be as per the court order. That is why the result was not announced. The election results will be announced after there is clarity on this. SFI won 6 seats, KSU 3 and MSF 1 seat. KSU's victory in 1 seat is yet to be announced.
Winners: Vaibhav Chacko (Law Academy), S.R. Niranjan (Karyavattom Campus), Reno Stephen R.B (Law College), Sourav Suresh (S.D. College), Devinandana M.S. (S.N. College, Kollam), Musafir Ahmed H. S. (Nilamel NSS) are the SFI members elected to the Senate. Salman (Law Academy) and Shinas (Law Academy) are the KSU representatives in the Senate. Jasmi (Kayamkulam MSM College) is the MSF representative in the Senate. This is the first time that MSF has won the Senate.
SFI won six out of seven general seats in the University Union elections. KSU got the post of Vice Chairperson.
