KOZHIKODE: Former MLA and CPM state committee member KK Lathika has removed the Facebook post with the controversial 'kafir' screenshot. The post was withdrawn after the UDF demanded the arrest of KK Lathika. She has also locked her Facebook profile.
Earlier, the investigation team had taken a statement from KK Lathika. Her phone was also subjected to cyber cell testing. The screen shot was not removed from Lathika's page even after the police demanded to remove it 'Porali Shaji' Facebook page.
Meanwhile, Kozhikode DCC President K Praveen Kumar said that the role of KK Lathika become more clear with the withdrawal of the post. "Police should show courage to arrest KK Latika. The UDF would launch a strong agitation if the action is delayed," Praveen said.
The fake screenshot was circulated on April 25 as if it was posted by MSF district secretary PK Muhammad Khasim in a WhatsApp group called Youth League Nidumbramanna. But the police informed the court that no such message was posted or shared from Khasim's phone. After this, the investigation was focused to pro-CPM cyber pages. It is alleged that this post first appeared on the 'Ambadimukku Saghakkal' page. The police have approached Facebook seeking clarification in this regard.
