KOCHI: Union minister V Muraleedharan has expressed strong words of criticism over the chief minister's inaction in the Brahmapuram Fire incident. He ridiculed the chief minister for being evasive about the issue while the people in Kochi are battling for fresh air.

The union minister also questioned the government's action of appointing relatives of CPM workers to take contract of the plant which pushed the issue to such a predicament. He said that the CM won't go lose from the issue this time. The harsh opprobrium came through the minister's Facebook page.

The Facebook post said “ The same chief minister who once gave sermons about what to do and what not on Covid is nowhere to be seen. Experts are equalling the catastrophe to nuclear attack damages. The same media which made adulation of the government and gave the sobriquet “captain” to Pinarayi Vijayan are not coming up with questions. The government now is fondling the life of many people in Kochi. The illegal contract in favor of a party worker explains a lot of the quagmire the government has plunged into. If delved deep, the stench of corruption will be more revealed thus the CM is restricting himself to banal comments on the issue. Some DYFI workers who came to Delhi to fight against the fire in Amazon are pretty much idle over the fire in Kerala. The irony being it is these lots who are currently seated in power.”
