THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM Acting Secretary A. Vijayaraghavan said that the pace of collapse in Congress was increasing. He said that the resignation of key leaders from Congress was part of the collapse and that the uniqueness of Kerala was that more leaders were moving to a secular side instead of going to the BJP. He also said that due consideration would be given to the leaders leaving the Congress.

"Secularists are unable to remain in Congress. The Muslim League has also been embroiled in internal disputes. Their anti-women stance has backfired. Problems have been exacerbated among other constituent parties of the UDF as well. Minority communalism will strengthen with majority communalism. CPM will fight without compromising with both of them," he said.

He said that communal forces were trying to destroy the secular mind of Kerala and that the BJP was trying to make political gains.
Vijayaraghavan also said that he did not think that there was any malice in the Pala Bishop's statement. He said the people had accepted the stand of the Chief Minister on the issue.
