THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has said that the appointment of two CIs with links to the CPM leadership in the Special Investigation Team investigating the Sabarimala gold robbery will sabotage the investigation.

"Behind these names appearing before the High Court are two senior IPS officers and a high-ranking official working for the CPM at the Crime Branch headquarters. This officer is notorious for filing false cases against Congress leaders. The aim is to protect the criminals by leaking the SIT's moves and diverting the investigation. The High Court should intervene immediately," Satheesan demanded.

Why was Kadakampally's interrogation kept secret, asks K.C

AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal asked why the Special Investigation Team secretly questioned Kadakampally Surendran and whether he was entitled to such a privilege.

"This confirms the suspicions expressed by the High Court in the investigation. The officers of the investigation team appointed by the High Court are under the control of the government." To a question from the media regarding the SIT's move to question MP Adoor Prakash, KC's reply was that let the law take its course. "The picture of Sonia Gandhi is being raised to divert attention from the case. The government has been trying to sabotage the case from the beginning. CPM will not learn no matter how much backlash they get," Venugopal said.
