ALAPPUZHA: Alappuzha MP and AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, while talking about the shambolic welfare pension distribution in Kerala, also mentioned Thiruvananthapuram MP’s recent tryst with the BJP government in New Delhi.

K C Venugopal:

“Everyone has the right to a welfare pension. I criticised the way the arrears are paid during the election period. Why create such a fuss about it? The government announced welfare pension payments just before the election, but has not done it yet.

The announcement was made to influence the voters of Nilambur. The Welfare Fund Board issued the pension order the other day. There was a violation of the election rules. I will consider asking the Election Commission to intervene and file a complaint in this regard.

Shashi Tharoor’s foreign trip as a representative of the central government is appreciated. There is freedom of speech in Congress, and anyone can have differing views. However, the party will be forced to take action against anyone who crosses the Lakshmana Rekha”
