BJP leader Sandeep Warrier has responded to the press release issued by director Aashiq Abu explaining the details about Progressive Malayalam Film Makers Association. Taking to his Facebook page, Sandeep Warrier lashed out at Aashiq Abu's statement that the association is open to changing its name if necessary.
'The Sudapi film organisation stated that it would change its name if necessary. Whether you change the name or not, anti-nationals remain anti-nationals,' Sandeep Warrier wrote on his Facebook page.
Aashiq Abu's post
'Several people from the film industry discussed the idea of an organization focused on progressive ideas for those working in all sections of cinema. The concept is to have a Progressive Malayalam filmmakers Association.
Once the association is formally established, we are open to adopting a new name if necessary. Our vision is for an inclusive industry where everyone, from producers to those sticking posters, is considered filmmakers. The governing body of the association will have representation from all sections of the film industry. The leadership will be democratically elected after its formal establishment. Until then, a temporary committee will oversee operations. Following the official launch of the association, a membership campaign will commence. The association will take full shape after the subsequent elections,' the post read.
