NEW DELHI: A woman died of electrocution after holding an electric pole to avoid puddles. The shocking incident happened at New Delhi railway station. The dead has been identified as Sakshi Ahuja, a resident of Preet Vihar in East Delhi.

Delhi has been receiving heavy rains since last night. There is waterlogging in many places following this. Sakshi reached the station with her sister and three children to board a train to Bhopal around 5 am. She was electrocuted when she held on to an electric pole to avoid puddles. Though she was taken to the hospital, her life could not be saved.

Relatives alleged that the uninsulated wire in the post caused the death of Sakshi. Her sister has filed a complaint against the negligence of the authorities pointing all these. On inspecting the post which caused the accident, two wires were found to be snapped. This is believed to have led to the accident. The police and the railways have started an investigation into the incident. Forensic department also reached the spot and collected information.
