Girl steals gold of 59-year-old woman to buy phone for lover, arrested in Muvattupuzha

ERNAKULAM: A plus-two student hit a housewife on her head with a hammer and robbed her gold chain and earrings for money to buy a smartphone for her boyfriend. Jalaja (59) near Muvattupuzha South Paipra Colony was attacked by the female student during an attempted robbery. The incident happened last afternoon.

The girl arrived at Jalaja's house when she was alone. She hit Jalaja from the back with a hammer and then stole her chain and earrings and fled the place. Meanwhile, Jalaja informed the locals and they called the the police. When the police came and interrogated the student, she initially denied but later confessed to the crime. Jalaja has been admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital with serious head injuries.
