Cow Hug Day:  Animal Welfare Board withdraws order

NEW DELHI: Central Animal Welfare Board Secretary Dr Surjit Kumar Dutta on Friday withdrew the order appealing to celebrate February 14 as 'Cow Hug Day'. It is believed that strong criticism from the public prompted the Animal Welfare Board to withdraw the order despite several BJP leaders justifying and supporting cow hugging. Trolls mocking the order had gone viral on social media in recent days.
