KOCHI: When the government is siphoning off poor people's pockets by raising taxes in the name of financial crisis, public money is being used for the wedding of an IPS officer. Government vehicles are shuttling service for two days to transport people who are arriving to attend the wedding of IR Battalion Commandant Padam Singh, to star hotels and so on. Around 10 luxury cars such as Jeep Compass and Corolla of the police and district administration are running the shuttle service. The number plates of all vehicles were covered throughout the service, but beacon lights are used to ensure royal travel. Reports said two vehicles of a senior IAS officer in the district are being used for the wedding.

The wedding will take place at Bolgatty Palace. Government vehicles are used to transport the guests to the hotel. Policemen are assigned to receive guests arriving at the airport and to carry their bags. Policemen are in the airport with the list of guests arriving on each flight from morning to night. The police are able to breathe only after seeing that the guests are received well. Their accommodations are arranged at various five-star hotels in Kaloor and Bolgatty.
