NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to NIA on the plea to quash the Union Home Ministry's order of April 2022, which initiated proceedings against the PFI. Justice Jasmeet Singh's single bench issued this directive on PFI leader OMA Salam’s plea. The NIA has to reply within four weeks. The plea will be heard again on July 11.
The NIA registered a case against the Popular Front on 13 April 2022. Leaders and activists were arrested in flash raids in states including Kerala. The NIA had stated that it had found digital devices and documents as proof of terror activities. OMA Salam was arrested in the raid on September 22.
