KOZHIKODE: The Kozhikode City police registered a case against Congress leader and AICC spokesperson Shama Mohamed on the complaint of delivering a hate speech. The case was registered following a complaint filed by Thiruvananthapuram resident Arunjith to the Election Commission that Shama's speech during the election tour of UDF candidate M K Raghavan was in a manner creating religious hatred. The police in the FIR said that her speech during the election tour of UDF candidate M K Raghavan was spreading hatred.

Shama during the speech said that this election is an election against fascism. If Narendra Modi returns, democracy and the constitution will be over. The BJP leader himself said that if they get more than 400 seats, they will change this constitution. They said that they will change many things. There will be no secularism. Sometimes Christian and Muslim mosques will not exist.

After a case was filed against her, Shama came forward showering criticisms. 'On what basis, the charges were slapped against me. I have not spoken against any religion. What all are the CPM leaders saying? Why are these charges not slapped against them? The home minister of Kerala belongs to which party. He is in a hurry to file case against Congress leaders. I raised the issues that happened in Manipur. Was the case filed against me because I spoke against the BJP. A reply should be obtained. This should be answered. I haven't done anything wrong. I'm not afraid, will not withdraw from what I said,’ she said.
