"Best wishes for continued efforts to achieve more prosperous China...": CM Vijayan greets Xi Jinping for re-election as Chinese President

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to social media to congratulate Xi Jinping who was re-elected as the President of China. The Chief Minister also wrote on Twitter that it is commendable that China has emerged as a prominent voice in global politics.


"Revolutionary greetings to President Xi Jinping on his re-election as the President of the People's Republic of China. It is truly commendable that China has emerged as a prominent voice in global politics. Best wishes for the continued efforts to achieve a more prosperous China.", CM Vijayan tweeted.

Meanwhile, many criticized the Chief Minister for his social media post greeting the Chinese President at a time of major controversies in the state. The minister also haven't attempted to comment on the Brahmapuram fire or visit the place. "As you convey your best wishes to the Chinese President, the people who voted for you are breathing toxic smoke" are one among the responses to this social media post.
