THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took to social media to congratulate Xi Jinping who was re-elected as the President of China. The Chief Minister also wrote on Twitter that it is commendable that China has emerged as a prominent voice in global politics.

Meanwhile, many criticized the Chief Minister for his social media post greeting the Chinese President at a time of major controversies in the state. The minister also haven't attempted to comment on the Brahmapuram fire or visit the place. "As you convey your best wishes to the Chinese President, the people who voted for you are breathing toxic smoke" are one among the responses to this social media post.
